Acupuncture is a beautiful practice of energy exchange involving a practitioner, patient, needles, touch, and other modalities. This exchange is based on the intention of the practitioner and the acceptance of help by the patient. To this end, I view the practitioner as someone who stands beside the patient, using the needles to guide their body in the right direction. Acupuncture helps to remind your body, mind, and spirit where homeostasis lives and how to return there. Every body strives to be in homeostasis, and when life factors push the body off that course, the patient just needs a supportive guide to point them back in the right direction. Using subtle diagnostic techniques, we can focus on the patient as an individual person, not an illness. We are able to see all the symptoms in relation to each other so that the treatment can positively affect the person as a whole.
Our goal is to provide alternative medical care that will reverse and prevent disease using the fundamental healing principles of the body.
Sacred Scarab Acupuncture utilizes acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, reiki, light and heat therapy, and tui na (Chinese medical massage) to treat and support each patient. Additionally, we offer Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture sessions as an adjunctive therapy for those looking to restore collagen and ease fine lines and wrinkles in their face and neck.
Acupuncturist
Melinda grew up in New Jersey and attended Penn State University, receiving a Bachelor of
Science in Environmental Resource Management. As the stress level of her career grew, she
began utilizing acupuncture as a way to help deal with physical and emotional ailments that were being
caused by her stress. During this time, she fell in love with the medicine and realized that she wanted to
learn more about it and help to heal others in the same ways she had been healed. After 20 years in the
corporate world, she attended the Won Institute of Graduate Studies and obtained her Masters of
Acupuncture. Now, as a licensed and NCCAOM board certified acupuncturist, Melinda strives to bring the
beautiful hope and healing that acupuncture can provide to her patients.
